DESCRIPTION
Experience the Winterhaven Festival of Lights like never before with the Arizona Party Bike! This will be the 74th year for the Winterhaven Festival of Lights and our 9th year running tours – one of the longest running festivals of its kind in the country. The Festival of Lights celebrates the holiday season in Tucson and is visited by hundreds of thousands of people from all over southern Arizona.
We will be providing fun, family-friendly 45 minute tours of the incredible Winterhaven Festival of Lights from December 9th – 24th most days from 6pm – 10pm. Winterhaven rides will run every hour and will showcase the amazing lights festival in an open-air environment complete with holiday music!
Winterhaven rides on the party bike are perfect for friends, families, and company holiday parties! Each bike holds up to 14 people, and we will have multiple bikes available for booking each hour. Contact us if you need to book for a larger group!
Individual seats can be booked for our Winterhaven rides — no need to reserve the whole bike! We recommend reserving your seats online ahead of time to ensure availability as we are often booked weeks in advance and cannot guarantee same-day availability.
Note: Due to car seat laws and safety, we cannot have children on board under the age of eight years old. Children between 8 – 11 years old must ride on the back bench, seatbelt on, with an adult next to them. Children 12+ may ride on the bike seats.
Priority for the back bench will be given to the disabled and children between 8 – 11 years old, so please let us know if anyone in those categories will be attending when making your reservation so we can plan accordingly.
This is a family-friendly tour, so all adults are allowed just one adult beverage on board.
Itinerary
All Winterhaven rides begin and end in front of Shooter’s Saloon (a great place to grab food and a drink!), located at 3115 E Prince Rd. Click here for the map.
There is parking at Shooters and on the street, but please anticipate higher than usual traffic in the area due to the festival.
Winterhaven rides begin at the stated time in your confirmation email and last for approximately 45 minutes. Plan to arrive approximately 30 minutes before your start time so as to sign waivers, go over the rules, and get loaded up. The captain will make one to two stops inside the festival so that groups can get a closer look at the displays and take photos.
Please note that there is not time to purchase food inside the festival or use the restrooms — please do this before or after your ride so as not to hold up the other passengers!
We do ask that you be somewhat flexible on your start time, as we try to pair smaller groups up so that they can enjoy the experience. We will be sure to contact you in advance if a slight change is necessary on your start time.
The map below shows our starting/end point and the area where we conduct the ride:
One of the fun parts of our Winterhaven rides is that each adult is allowed to bring on board an “adult” beverage! But don’t let forgetting a couple of things dampen the experience.
Below are the supplies we recommend bringing with you, along with a few things we can’t have on board.
Feel Free To Bring:
- One “adult” beverage per adult (beer, wine, hard cider, adult hot chocolate, etc.)
- Snacks and water if desired
- Any supplies like cups you may need for your beverage
Do Not Bring:
- Glass containers. Beer should be in cans and wine should be boxed or put into another container like a cup or water bottle
- Hard liquor is not allowed on board the bike (spiked hot chocolate is A-OK!)
Forget to bring your adult beverages? Never fear! Shooter’s Steakhouse can sell you closed containers to bring on board.
Policy Enforcement
The Party Bike Captain for your tour is in charge at all times and will enforce the following policies. It is also the responsibility of the person who booked the tour to help the pilot in hosting the group in order to maintain a fun and safe experience.
When To Arrive & Check-In Process
To stay on schedule, please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of your tour in order to have everything ready by the time your tour is supposed to start. If you have not signed liability waivers, you will do so at this time. Then, you will load up on your bike and your captain will go over the rules before pedaling into the festival.
We do ask that you be somewhat flexible on your start time, as we try to pair smaller groups up so that they can enjoy the experience. We will be sure to contact you in advance if a slight change is necessary on your start time.
Passenger Waivers
All participants must sign a liability waiver prior to boarding the party bike. The waiver may be signed online at this link ahead of time, or it can be done on your phone when you arrive.
When filling out the waiver online, please keep the verification email that you receive as you will need to show it at the check-in table upon arrival!
Please make every attempt to sign the waivers online prior to arrival as this will expedite the check-in process.
Age Limitations
Due to car seat laws, we cannot have children on board under the age of eight years old. For safety, children between 8 – 11 years old must ride on the back bench, seatbelt on, with an adult next to them. Children 12+ may ride on the bike seats. Priority for the back bench will be given to the disabled and children between 8 – 11 years old, so please let us know if anyone in those categories will be attending when making your reservation so we can plan accordingly.
Reservation Policy
Upon making a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email for your order. Please double-check your email address before submitting your booking.
Confirmation emails that say Confirmed are confirmed and no further action is required on your part. Emails that says Pending either still require payment to be confirmed or have not reached the minimum number of riders to be confirmed. On Hold emails mean you have joined a waiting list and the time slot is not yet available. All customers with pending and on hold bookings will be notified 24 hours before the start time as to whether or not their booking is confirmed.
If you did not receive a confirmation email, please give us a call to verify your email address and confirm.
Payments
Winterhaven ride reservations are charged the full price upon booking and are non-refundable.
Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds
You may cancel with a full refund up to 14 days before your tour. You may call us to reschedule up to 7 days before your tour. We cannot cancel less than 14 days in advance or reschedule bookings less than 7 days from the reservation date. We will also not reschedule a booking that has already been cancelled or rescheduled once already. These bookings will not be refunded. Make sure to reschedule in advance if you need to!
Alcohol Policy
Adults may bring one adult beverage on board on board the party bike for their Winterhaven ride. Beer, wine, and “spiked hot chocolate” type drinks only. No glass containers or hard liquor. Bring cups or plastic containers if needed!
Weather Policy
We ride rain or shine, but for safety we cancel if there is lightning or other severe weather. Don’t worry — you won’t be pedaling around in a monsoon! If we have to cancel the tour based on severe weather conditions, you will receive a 100% refund or rain check for another date.
Weather cancellations are not made until right before your tour’s scheduled start time, as weather can be unpredictable.
For light rain and showers, we will provide ponchos for your group free of charge!
Inappropriate Behavior Termination
Inappropriate behavior by participants will result in termination of the tour for the entire group. Your party bike pilot has sole discretion on terminating a tour for misbehavior. Groups who have their tour terminated for any reason will not receive a refund.
These include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Extreme intoxication
- Removing open containers of alcohol from the bike onto the street
- Providing alcohol to anyone under the age of 21
- Bringing glass or hard liquor on board in violation of local ordinances
- Jumping off the vehicle while it’s in motion
- Using vulgar language at pedestrians, the police, or other drivers
- Standing or hanging on the bike (you must stay seated when moving)
- Any other inappropriate behavior or violation of local, state and federal laws
This is a family-friend event so please act appropriately!
Remember—Your party bike captain is in charge! Make sure to have a good time, but use common sense!
